My style.
Shot by the excellent Kris Labang, the subject of a past post. He took this frame of my camera set up and my nifty t-shirt at John Hook‘s photography opening at the Gallery of Hawaii Artists, which was a mass cluster of photographers. The party went late and by that time everyone who was armed was shooting, nearly all Nikon it seems.
That camera is the Nikon F5 fitted with the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 Ais and my cool cool t-shirt was a gift from my sister Lilia from her travels to Hong Kong a few years ago. Its now my favorite t-shirt.

Here’s another, I’m attempting to think of something funny while on the right Hawaii Photo Rental’s Josh Strickland is obviously thinking of some snappy retort. Imageworks’ Christine Colbeen and fellow wedding photographer (and mighty good surfer) Dave Miyamoto look on from the left, awaiting my comment.
Honestly, I really can’t recall another recent event where all I did was laugh the whole time. Photographers are a funny, funny bunch.

Self portrait with Kris’s camera, a Nikon D700 with the amazing Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 AF-S G, shot manual focus by feel. I’ve been doing this shot for decades and you get pretty good at it after a while.
